Meet Share the Dignity, our charity partner for the start of 2024.

08/04/2024

As a female-led company, we at Worn for Good are only too familiar with the monthly cycle many women, girls, and menstruating people move through each month. We are privileged to have access to the sanitary product we need to help support us during this phase. However, for many, the choice between sustenance and dignity, food or period products, is a decision that has to be made far too often. This is a stark reality that we cannot ignore.

Every person deserves to be afforded the Dignity that many of us take for granted. Our charity partner for this quarter, Share the Dignity, is on the frontline supporting menstruating people and trying to bring an end to period poverty.
Share the Dignity is a women's charity in Australia that works to make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They distribute period products to women, girls, and anyone who menstruates and needs support. When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.

They assist those in need by collecting hundreds of thousands of period products yearly through collection drives and campaigns. These products are distributed directly to charities across Australia.

They also work on advocacy by aiming to end period poverty in Australia. They helped to axe the tampon tax in 2018 and are now focused on ensuring all public hospitals offer free sanitary items to those who need them through #PadUpPublicHealth.

This initiative would not only support people through their menstruating phase but also anyone who has birthed and is navigating the 4th trimester. These times bring enough challenges, and being faced with the choice to buy sanitation products or other necessities should not be one of them.

By choosing to shop with WFG, you are not just participating in a circular fashion economy, but also playing a crucial role in supporting a cause that is making a significant difference on the ground in so many ways.

Love, the WFG team xx
