A moment with Kirsty Boskemper-Irwin, founder of Boskemper.

11/01/2023

With a focus on timelessness not trend, BOSKEMPER founder Kirsty let’s us in on what drives her passion for creating and what sustainability means to her and BOSKEMPER.

What was the driving passion behind creating Boskemper?
It is my desire to travel & share the inspiration I obtain through my collections. Each collection is based on a destination to which I have travelled. The ranges are curated based on the wonderful things I have absorbed on my trips, such as colours, flora & fauna, local culture, foods, etc. I want to spend the rest of my days travelling the world, wearing clothing that makes me feel empowered.

Coffee Order?
Iced Oat Latte… Even when it’s freezing outside!

Currently Listening to?
I am a lover of old school rock n’ roll, so I often go back to old albums from the 60’s & 70’s. Right now, I am hitting repeat on T. Rex & Ofege.

Most Loved item of clothing?
I got myself the Bea Blazer Dress from BOS a few months ago & I love it so much that I still haven’t worn it because I’m saving it for THE event (whenever or wherever that may be).

I like to remind myself that….
Everything happens for a reason!

Favourite way to spend a Saturday night in?
Cooking pasta with my boyfriend while drinking an Italian vino & talking for hours about anything & everything on the couch.

What are you currently working on (personal or professional)?
We are working on a really exciting project for BOSKEMPER at the moment. A new collaborative capsule collection with a Melbourne based personality we all know & love. We are developing BOSKEMPER pieces like we have never done before… stay tuned!

What does sustainability mean to you and your business?
Overproduction in fashion is one of the environment's biggest threats & we are very conscious of our impact on the industry. We are trying to change the way people shop with our on-demand process, which means a percentage of our production is only produced by customer demand (pre-orders). This is a key focus for BOSKEMPER going forward.

We also are engaging in initiatives, such as Worn For Good, to ensure all of our pieces & even samples get a happy home & therefore not contributing to waste & landfill.

At BOSKEMPER we focus on timelessness not trend, to ensure each of our creations have a long life.

BOSKEMPER pieces sold on Worn For Good support OzHarvest.

100% of profits from this collection go to OzHarvest who is a leading food rescue organisation on a mission to nourish our country by stopping good food from going to waste and delivering it to charities that feed people in need. Every $1 donated to OzHarvest allows them to deliver two meals to people in need.
